Nathaniel

Nathaniel was born in the Fall.
His mood was destined to reflect the cold, death, and sojourn that is the season.
He hurt for all his life.
Life was an ensuing torture lulled by moments of sweet release.
Nathaniel craved release more than anything.
His crave was filled with what he found to be the most innocent, purest, and sastisfying- love.
Nathaniel now craved love most of all.
He then found what he sought out to have.
It was everything and more he could imagine.
Love was dizziness, a swirling passion.
Fire surged through his veins with every kiss.
But Nathaniel nearly smothered the fire and love didn't last.
His heart still burned with a flicker.
If only the fire could get swirling again, sparks will ignite and blazes will come gushing.
Nathaniel spent long nights over many years waiting.
His hope was only met with grief, so Nathaniel found a new love.
Nathaniel went about the day with holes his head.
He walked with gaps in perception, filled with momentary wonder.
He was new- different. His mood was hidden and it didn't seem to affect him.
In the middle of Natheniel's seeming self-discovery, along came a spider.
Nathaniel was always terrified of spiders, but somehow fell in love.
Smooth, sexy, gentle- this is the spider.
And the two wove a web thight with each other.
Nathaniel's web was strait with even angles weak at the joints.
The spider's web was a circle that twisted and bent inside itself for support.
Nathaniel's web was beautiful but flimsy, ultimately a useless web.
The spider's was functional but for the wrong purpose, ultimately a useless web.
In one giant catachism, their webs tore asunder with tremendous aftershock.
The blast affected everyone within their combined webs and all was thus destroyed.
Amidst the dust and rubble, Nathaniel now sits quietly.
He remembers his life's stuggle for love- the tender, soft escape.
He remembers his favorite childhood hobby.
Nathaniel would take apart the stapler to see how it worked.
But he also remembers putting the stapler back together.
He knows now that love is not for sale; he may not go shopping for love.
Nathaniel hurts no more. He no longer seeks release.
Life is unforgiving and it hurts, but Nathaniel knows how to wait.
He knows now to truly appreciate those moments when life deals you one fine hand.
Nathaniel is unaffected by his somber mood.
He smiles becuase he has known pain, fear, and loss.
He smiles becuase he has known love.

Are You Bored?

Are you under stress? Is your brain fried in the wake of mid-terms, and constantly set on longings for Thanksgiving break? Are you bored? If you're looking for something to do while actually doing nothing, YouTube is the answer to your prayers.

I was introduced to YouTube when my sister sent me an e-mail from work. It's a clip of Michelle, from Destiny's Child, hitting the deck at the beginning of a performance. It's always hilarious to see professionals screw up, but this was extra special because of Beyonce's reaction to the fall-- absolutely nothing. Kelly at least looked to see if she was o.k. Wicked hilarious, see for yourself!
~Michelle's Fall!~

The usefullness, at least for my purposes, of the information on YouTube is that the information is useless. The founder's original concept was to share videos with his family via the Internet. In eighteen months, the site has now grown so that everyone is allowed to post clips. The site is simple and user-friendly, not at all overwhelming. There is a good search feature and the site is organized by content, genre, and topics. Any given clip may come from almost any user of site. I however, do not post videos and choose to use the site strictly for entertainment.

Yet another, equally wonderful, procrastination device is Bored.com. This site needs no introduction, the name is expilicit enough. However, a notable point, Bored.com is a superior site because it offers more variety. It has links to other sites for all topics: Humor, Sports, Trivia, Romance, Music, etc. Again, it's all explicit in the title. Bored? Go to Bored.com.

Ah Tommy, you say things that some people do not need to hear.
